My daughter is almost exactly 5 months old and we have a lot of techniques to help soothe her. The one that we still use is swaddling, and I'm now trying to wean her off by leaving one arm out for naps. I plan to do this for a week before trying it overnight . Then I'll do the same process with the other arm. So far (it's day 2) her napping has been quite bad. The longest I can get het down for is 30 mins. If I want her to sleep longer I have to hold her. I don't want to create a bad habit by holding her but I also want her to get the sleep that she needs. Do you have any tips for me? Thank you!

This has helped me somewhat but now I may have started another problem...I couldn't get my 11 week old to nap without a fight so now instead of eat/play/sleep I do eat/sleep/play which helps her get her naps peacefully during the day. Should I not have done that because now she may not be able to sleep without a feed first therefore getting her into a bad habit...I'm a first time mum so this is all new to me, would appreciate you input!

The 5 s's seem to work fine ... For everyone BUT me. My son will cry and scream until I nurse him, even if he just ate. Anyone else can calm him and get him to sleep. But I'm all alone at night and that means I don't sleep.
