Since having my son, I’ve had no choice in the matter. I’m a night owl, that’s my thing. Going to bed early is just not an option.
There are certain things that I now do when I’m forced to wake up at 5 or 6 am to make my day better:
1) I drink a wonderful tea that I enjoy: some of my choices include Yogi tea: green tea and goji, or the daily green tea (with ginseng and honey).
2) I also never used to eat breakfast but now that I get up early, I need some energy so egg whites and two pieces of toast keeps me going
3) Checking my email, websites and message boards, and then looking over at my son who looks up and smiles at me, kind of makes it worth it.
The silver lining in my cloud is that two hours after my little man gets up, I get to go have a nap for at least an hour with him! Ahh the benefits of being home with children! This morning I woke up thinking, I’m so happy I don’t have to do anything today besides take care of my little man!
I’m working on some product reviews of baby gear that is useless and/or useful for babies 3-7 months, i’ve got my list, anyone have any products they’d like me to include?

Oh me! I hate, hate getting up early. The time change here now has our little one screaming at 5:58 every morning. Help me!!!
I just won a free Moboleez hat! So I’ll let you know what I think of it when I get it.
My girl keeps getting up earlier and earlier – this morning it was 5:30 – god help me! In terms of products I’m a bit fan of the Itsy Bitsy Yoga Dvd’s
I know that comes as a big suprise!
I kind of agree with you. Its like you found more day. Well sort of day. It looks like night but aparently its what passes for day here in winter. I find I get more head aches now from being up early. But I think it might be because I am not going to bed any earlier….
Yes, not a morning person here either. I find that my morning routine, which includes a little time for e-mail and blogs as well, helps me transition. Still, I can’t help but wonder what kind of cruel genetics gave me one night owl and one early bird for kids. That’s just messed up!
Waking up early sucks. I’m with you on that! ;-(
My fave baby gear:
I just bought this when my babes was 4months. I wish I’d come across it sooner, it’s so handy having everything I need it one spot of a nappy change. I hate lugging around a diaper bag. http://www.skiphop.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SH&Category_Code=ACC&&Product_Code=202000
Love their bottle bag too. I used it first as a bottle bag but now for weaning it’s great (and just the right size): http://www.skiphop.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SH&Category_Code=ACC&&Product_Code=212000
The mama jojo bebe bibs with sleeves (they’re not on their site at the mo? maybe sold out??) http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detailfash.php?type=FASH&code=A7015&branch=&category= Are a must have for eating and saving you from endless laundry..!!
My last fave is Sofie the Giraffe. The best teething toy hands down ever! She has saved our lives.
